What a Transit Decision Brief includes
This sample explains the structure and safeguards of the paid deliverable. It is not an agency-specific report or an official FTA assessment.
1. Decision question and scope
We document the agency or client, report year, decision question, and any agreed limits before interpreting a metric.
2. Explainable peer set
We identify comparable agencies using primary NTD mode and ridership band, then select the nearest annual-ridership values. Any limited peer set or material reporting difference is disclosed.
3. Benchmark snapshot
The six-page PDF shows annual ridership, operating cost per trip, farebox recovery, and service productivity alongside peer medians. A printable HTML companion and CSV appendix contain the figures used.
4. Provenance and caveats
Every packet identifies the FTA NTD source, report year, formulas, missing values, and comparability limits. Comparisons are directional; they are not causation findings, ratings, or professional advice.
